Ease of Use
CC-RIDER is now more powerful for
experts and easier for novices. The Visualizer Symbol
Display Window has been completely redesigned using the
Windows 95 and NT tree and tab controls, allowing better
access to symbol information easily and quickly.
| Intuitive
Interface: The new version 6 is now even easier to
use. Projects can be set up and analyzed directly
from the Visualizer. Convenient toolbars access
the most common commands. Install and Go: Setting up your
project is easy. Just name your database, pick
the compiler you use, enter an INCLUDE path to
locate header files, and specify what C or C++
modules you want to analyze.
Comprehensive
Online Help: The online help systems covers
everything you need to know about CC-RIDER from
project setup to using the Visualizer. Context

Below are a sampling of
the enhancements that have been added to make version 6
easy to use.
Large &
Small Projects
It can be really frustrating
when you find a tool which is beneficial, but as the
project gets larger, it can no longer handle all the
code. Just when you need it most, CC-RIDER will still
provide the visual browsing and documentation you've
grown accustomed to. CC-RIDER can handle large and small
projects!
Browsing and
Editing Toolbars
Toolbars can be detached (made
to float in separate windows) and/or moved by dragging
them to a new location. You can also show or hide the
toolbars from the View menu. These toobars allow
quick access to the most common commands to browse and
edit your source code.
Visualizer
Display Window
The Visualizer Symbol Display
Window has been completely redesigned using the Windows
95 and NT 4.0 tree and tab controls, allowing better
access to symbol information quickly. A split window is
now displayed showing the instances of a symbol name in
the left panel as a tree control, while the right panel
is a tab control used to investigate detailed information
about the selected instance:

Integrated
Visualizer Code Analysis
Code analysis is integrated
with the Visualizer. You can open or create a new project
via the File Menu in the Visualizer (New
Project
and Open Project
). A new Analyze
menu accesses the Analyzer, rebuilding a database in the
background while you continue exploring your project in
the Visualizer.
When the new database has been built,
it will open in the Visualizer automatically. It also is
possible, however, to run the Analyzer by itself to build
your CC-RIDER database as a separate step. Command line
executables are also available for use in your MAKE
files.
Configurable
Visualizer Tree Display
The Visualizer tree displays
have new configurable actions, including pop-up menus of
child nodes or actions. By default a right mouse click on
a node will show a menu of actions which can be performed
for that node.
The child node pop-up menu facilitates
navigating large trees and the pop-up action menu makes
it easy to display a variety of information about a tree
node:

CC-RIDER has evolved from a simple
text-based tool to a powerful visually-based program.
Version 6 is easier to use and more powerful than ever,
and Western Wares will continue to add features to the
product as it evolves.
User feedback is very imortant to us
and we encourage suggestions for new features which will
make CC-RIDER an even more productive tool than it now
is.
